FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What material is your vinyl banner?
A: Our vinyl banners are made out of 13oz matte vinyl. These heavyweight champions will hold up against the elements and prove to be your best advertising investment yet!

Q: Can I print on both sides of my banner?
A: Yes, you have the option to print on both sides of your banner. Our maximum size for two sided banner printing is 1440" x 114" at the moment. To do so, please ensure that you select the "Full Color Front and Back" option in the order calculator. This will enable you to have your banner printed with desired graphics or text on both the front and back sides. By choosing this option, you'll be able to create a visually appealing and informative banner that effectively communicates your message to viewers from any angle.

Q: How do I know what size pole pocket to order for my vinyl banner?
A: Here is the standard recommendation:
2” pole pocket accommodates 1” diameter pole and under
3” pole pocket accommodates 1.5” diameter pole and under

Q: Can you print and cut custom shapes of vinyl banners?
A: No, we do not at the moment.

Q: Can I wash my custom vinyl banners?
A: Your vinyl banners can be professionally cleaned or carefully cleaned with a mild detergent and non-abrasive cloth. They should be hung to dry. Putting them into a washer may damage the design and material.

Q: Can I get any size vinyl banner I want?
A: Yes, please use our easy custom size and enter the size of banner you need and check out.

Q: How do you print on the vinyl banners?
A: We use a method called dye sublimation. We print your design on a special heat transfer paper in reverse, which will then get pressed onto the banner by a heat press. The image gets transferred onto the banner. It is the most effective and durable process to print on banners, which renders the highest quality images. Pretty cool stuff.

Q: How long will my vinyl banner last?
A: Depending on usage and care, it should last about 3 years. Avoid direct sunlight to extend the lifespan.

Q: Can you do your famous foil stamping or embossing on vinyl banners?
A: No, unfortunately, as much as we would love to put foil on banners, we are not there yet. You never know, maybe one day.

Q: How do you hang vinyl banners with grommets?
A: Hook one end of your rope, string, cable tie, or bungee cord onto your grommet and the other end onto your anchor point (up to however many grommets you have). Be sure to properly flatten out your banner such that it can be viewed in its full glory. You don't necessarily need to use all your grommets to hang up your banner, but the more you use, the more stable it will be.

Q: How do you hang a vinyl banner on a brick wall?
A: Same as above. For your anchor points, drill holes into the brick wall and use screws or hooks.

Q: How do you attach a vinyl banner to a table?
A: Same as above. For your anchor points, you can use corners of the table, metal brackets between the legs and table, or, at worst, affix hooks to your table to act as anchor points.

Q: How do you hang vinyl banners with pole holes?
A: A flagpole of some sort would function as the best anchor, though you could technically thread a rope through the pole holes/pole pockets.

Q: How do I design a vinyl banner?
A: For design help, use our free templates or contact us to get in touch with our team of dedicated graphic designers.

Q: Do you offer mockups for vinyl banners?
A: Yes. The last thing we'd want is for you to receive a final product you're not happy with.

Q: Can I get a rush order of vinyl banners?
A: If you're looking for a rush order, head over to our custom quotes and let us know what you're after.

Q: How far are the grommets from the edges of the banner and how can I ensure that the design won't be cut off?
A: The grommets on the banner are typically positioned 2 feet apart and roughly half an inch away from the edge. To ensure that your design will not be cut off during the printing process, we provide downloadable layout templates that guarantee your file is within the correct dimensions. Additionally, you have the option to select our free file proof service. After our team has reviewed your file, we will send it to you for approval before proceeding with printing. Rest assured that we carefully check and rectify any errors we find on the file prior to sending it for production.

Q: Do I have to pick up the finished vinyl banners from your store?
A: No need! The beauty of online shopping with the Gold Image Printing website is that you can do everything from your doorstep, including receiving your finished banners.

Q: How can I estimate shipping costs for multiple vinyl banners?
A: You don't need to estimate anything, Our vinyl banners ship free. Enjoy!

Q: Can I create the art for the banner "to scale" and have it enlarged for printing?
A: Certainly! When it comes to creating artwork for banners, it is essential to ensure that the file is "print-ready" and ideally, it should be of the same size as the desired banner. However, if your available file is not set with the correct size, there is no need to worry. We have the capability to resize the file to match your desired banner size while maintaining the original proportions and ensuring that the resolution is not compromised. If your artwork is not directly proportionate to the size of the banner you want, we can recommend the closest size possible that will work well with your artwork.

Q: How large and heavy are the 120 x 36 banners when they are rolled up?
A: Our 120 x 36 banners are shipped rolled up and folded according to sizing. They are about 4 lbs per banner. The specific size and weight when these banners are rolled up indicate that they are relatively large and somewhat heavy.
