Q: How do I print on an envelope? What customizations do you offer?
A: When you order custom envelopes through Gold Image Printing, you can fully customize their shape, size, paper stock, colors, design, and more! Choose whether you want a flap and whether you want a window too! You should also indicate whether you need Recipient Addressing (possible from the shopping cart).
Q: Do you have different paper types for custom envelopes?
A: Absolutely! Simply browse through our paper stock options and pick the stock that's right for you. Then head over to our custom quotes page and let us know what you're thinking!
Q: Can I use my own envelopes and have you do the printing?
A: Absolutely! We're happy you've found the perfect envelope for you! Let us know exactly what you're after with a custom quote so we can help you out!
Q: What shapes can an envelope be?
A: The standard rectangular envelopes are always available in the shopping cart, but if you'd like a custom shape, we can have die cutting done too. Request a custom quote to let us know what you're after.
Q: How can I fold an envelope?
A: We can do all the folding for you! If you're after a custom shape that you'd provided the die lines for through a custom quote, you don't need to worry about getting it all set up. Our teams of designers are experienced and well equipped to handle any task you throw at them!
Q: What size is a business envelope?
A: The most common size for a business envelope is the No. 10, with or without a window. In inches that is 9.5" x 4.125".
Q: Do you offer custom size envelope printing?
A: Yes! Let us know what you're after with a custom quote. Please keep in mind that if you're adding certain specialties, such as die cutting or foil stamping, there may be an order minimum or different pricing. We are happy to work with you to ensure you get what you need.
Q: How do I address an envelope?
A: Write the recipient's address in the center of the envelope like so:
Full name
Street Address (i.e., 199 Street Name)
City, State/Province, Zip Code/Postal Code
Country
It's generally recommended you also add your own address as the return address in the upper left hand corner as well. Postage goes on the top right hand corner.
Q: How do I address a business envelope with attention?
A: Attention can be added by preceding the recipient's name with "Attn:" with the above format. If you're sending to a business, you can put the name of the business on the line under the recipient's name and above their street address.
Q: What is usually not included on a business envelope?
A: You can follow the above format for pretty much every element but leave out your own name in the "return address" section.
Q: How do I design my own custom envelopes?
A: Head over to the “Templates” tab and find the sizing that works best for you. Download the template in one of .AI, .JPG, .PDF, or .PSD file formats. Then you can design the envelopes for business to your heart's content in your favorite editing software.
Q: What can I do if I can't find a template in my size?
A: We're all about helping our customers. Request a custom quote and let us know what size template you need.
Q: There's so many specialties! Can I add all of them to my custom envelopes?
A: Yes and no. You can add multiple at a time, but there are some that conflict, such as soft touch vs. velvet lamination. The best way of knowing all your options is by contacting us through a custom quote so we can help you out.
Q: How many envelopes do I have to order?
A: With standard orders, you can get anywhere from 1 to 1,000 custom envelopes, but if you request a custom quote for specialties like die cutting there may be a different minimum that is set for you. This is done to account for set up costs and help ensure every product you get is pristine quality!
Q: What kind of turnaround can I expect? When will I get my envelopes for business purposes?
A: For standard orders of 1 to 1,000 custom envelopes, you can look forward to receiving your order in 3 business days. For orders of over 1,000 custom envelopes, please allow for additional shipment time.
Q: How do I make custom envelopes? How long do custom envelopes take to make?
A: Depending on the quantity, you can get your order in as soon as 3 business days once you have submitted your files and they are approved. Please keep in mind that if you order an especially large quantity or add a lot of specialties, your order may take longer.
Q: How much does it cost to print return addresses on custom envelopes with Gold Image Printing?
A: Be sure to include your return address on your design when you submit it to us! Otherwise, the pricing will be according to the customizations you selected in your shopping cart and updated in real-time as you click through your requirements.
